About the role
This role is an exciting opportunity to support student numeracy in a
multidisciplinary team aimed at enhancing student outcomes as
Education Officer – Curriculum Numeracy. In this role, you will
support schools and work collaboratively to promote system messages, facilitate professional learning, and build capacity for the learning and teaching of Numeracy in
BCE’s primary schools. You will work
face-to-face across a cluster of schools and travel to the schools within your allocated cluster will be required. The cluster of schools may be negotiated on depending on your location across the Brisbane Catholic Education Archdiocese
Your key responsibilities :
- Work collaboratively to support the implementation of key strategic directions that enhance leadership and teaching in the area of Numeracy
- Partner with schools to provide direct support in Numeracy with a focus on Numeracy within the Australian Curriculums in primary schools
- Support teachers to implement the Australian Numeracy General Capability with a contemporary focus on Numeracy to design and deliver contemporary professional learning based on the latest research and data
- Work collaboratively with other Learning and Pedagogy role holders to design and produce professional learning experiences and resources to support strategic directions in Numeracy in BCE schools
- Contribute to data collection, resource development, identification of good practice and program evaluation to support high quality Numeracy teaching practices and change processes in BCE schools
- Contribute to the development of a professional learning community of Learning and Teaching Services staff fulfilling reporting and other accountabilities as required
To be successful in this role you will:
- Current full registration with Queensland College of Teachers
- Post-graduate qualification and/or experience in teaching Numeracy as a general capability
- Experience designing and facilitating professional learning workshops and resources with a focus on pedagogical change
- Skills and expertise to provide effective and timely advice and support for schools in teaching and learning Numeracy across the curriculum in Primary Schools
- Experience providing advice and support relating to contemporary teaching and learning practices and research in Numeracy
- High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective professional relationships
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
