The position will be the central point of contact and relationship manager for new partners across the RICO and Project Office’s external stakeholder network. As the liaison between new partners and the RICO, the position will provide hands-on support to partners and connect them with the relevant areas of Defence required to best prepare them for success when partnering with Army.

About our Team
The Army’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems Implementation Coordination Office (RICO) is forming a new project office and seeking talented candidates. The project office will support the acquisition of knowledge by defining, developing, and testing robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) technology; developing relationships with Industry and Academic partners; and sharing knowledge gained with Defence’s innovation ecosystem.

Nested as an enabling function within the RICO, the project office formed in September 2023 and will centralise program management best practice and RAS subject matter expertise, support enduring relationships, conduct trials, and integrate across Defence’s RAS ecosystem. It will comprise a hybrid workforce of uniform, APS, and contracted resources. With the RICO, the team will be collectively responsible for acquiring knowledge by defining, developing, and testing RAS technology and conceptual alternatives in the context of the land domain’s specific autonomy challenges for the Future Land Force.

Our Ideal Candidate
RICO is seeking a proactive candidate who is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity, noting indicative duties may vary as the project office matures. A successful candidate will have demonstrable Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) skills such as: Labour Marketing Testing, Emerging Technology Monitoring, Innovation and Project Management. Experience negotiating with a diverse stakeholder group, developing and fostering relationships, getting people to understand others' points of view is essential. Additionally, a candidate should exhibit understanding and experience of Defence industry policies and priorities. The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team as well as strong written and verbal communication skills will stand the candidate in good stead.
