Your role
As an Environmental Health Manager in the Army, you'll be responsible for maintaining healthy working environments in barracks, on exercises and deployments.
You’ll create, coordinate and implement strategies to ensure the health and safety of your fellow soldiers. Your role will see you mitigate risk across areas including: water supply, food safety, facilities, waste management, pest control and prevention of disease.
The monitoring and evaluation of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is also a key part of your role. Working alongside teams of Environmental Health Assistants you’ll ensure they are trained and mentored effectively.

One of the most rewarding elements of this role is providing advice and services to support important exercises and operations; acting as a liaison with civilian authorities.
Salary:
In the Army you'll get paid a highly competitive salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training.
On completion of your Initial Military Training and initial employment training, you could earn $82,574 per annum plus generous super.
Location:
As a full time Environmental Health Manager, your primary place of work will see you based in one of the Army's deployable health units. These units are primarily located in Adelaide, Darwin, Townsville and Brisbane. It’s not possible to guarantee a specific posting location for the duration of your service, therefore you must be willing to relocate.

For this role, you must be an Australian citizen aged 17 to 60 and able to successfully obtain a security clearance.
You must also:
· Hold a degree in Environmental Health recognised by the Australian Institute of Environmental Health (AIEH)
· Have two years’ work experience as a practicing Environmental Health Officer
